"True, agriculture is changing rapidly.  In a democracy, we get to decide if that is good or bad news and act accordingly.

If we don't think it is good idea to ship our profits out of the area along with our production, if we don't want to go into big debt to become big serfs to even bigger lords, if we want local control of food, one of life's greatest necessities, we don't have to speed the process of legalized piracy.  We don't have to "get bigger or get out."

We don't have to invite factory farms into our county to pollute our soil, water and air.

If we don't practice democracy by using our right to vote, we will lose it.

Please, Winona County voters, go to the polls.  Vote for County Commissioners who will work for the common good of all who live in Winona County.

Thank you District 3 Commissioner, Jerry Heim.  You were right in opposing the relaxation in the county ordinance that allowed a huge corporate factory farm to reach one of its tentacles into Winona County.  You should be reelected in the 3rd district for the sake of all who live in Winona County.

Dwayne Voegeli deserves the vote of those from District 2.  Marcia Ward will get our vote in District 5.

Winona County needs Heim, Voegeli, and Ward because they will look out for us now, and for our future."
